SaaS or EOP?

For the POV process, we strongly encourage customers to use the SaaS offering. The Contrast UI is exactly the same when used in a SaaS environment or as an Enterprise On-Premises (EOP) deployment.

SaaS

The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment model is how must of our customers use and interact with Contrast.

Pros

  • Lower upfront cost
  • System upgrades automatically installed
  • Automatic scaling for any workload
  • Data security is our responsibility

Cons

  • Data stored in Contrast’s secure SaaS environment

Enterprise On-Premises (EOP)

For organizations who have strict requirements around using on-premises software, Enterprise On-Premises is a deployment option that we offer for meeting customer needs, but there are some drawbacks with this deployment model.

Pros

  • Data physically stored in your controlled environment

Cons

  • Higher cost to you (upfront and ongoing infrastructure)
  • System upgrades must be done by you
  • Scaling is up to you
  • Data security is your responsibility
